IAX bindaddr erorr

I cannot register any IAX that is not on the local area network, (Switchfin ver. 452).  I can set call tokens optional and accepts incoming calls outside the local area network but I cannot register any IAX device outside the network.  IAX debug does not show me anything.  ???

I see bind errors on IAX reload at CLI.  I'm wondering if Asterisk does not know it's ok to listen to any network for registration.  Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Thanks.

IAX reload results:

[Dec 10 16:48:58] WARNING[21290]: chan_iax2.c:11395 set_config: Invalid tos value, see doc/ip-tos.txt for more information.

Re: IAX bindaddr erorr

btw:

by default bindaddr in iax.conf says bindaddr=

I have changed this to bindaddr=0.0.0.0 and it does not change the reload error.

Re: IAX bindaddr erorr

hmmm, my thought about binding errors stopping a public IAX connection may not be correct.

root@ip0x:~> netstat -anup

This shows me is listening for udp on 4569 of any network.

:-(

Any suggestions?

Re: IAX bindaddr erorr

I found the lack of registration was my mistake.  An error in port forwarding of the gateway on the remote side.  It does not explain the bindaddr error on load but further research on the web shows this is a common error, without any clear fix or explanation.
