New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

Hi Guys

Over the past month i have been planning a new simple GUI from the ground up, at the moment i have nicknamed it Switchfin Basic.

The basic idea is to add only the simplest functions in the read only rootfs (Extensions/Trunks/Ring Groups/Hardware conf) and have an Add-ons repository to add/update extra features as needed.

Also all layouts and images are set via CSS allowing us to have full theme support.

Anyway it is very very far from complete but i thought i would share some of the current progress/development screenshots.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome smile

Re: New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

I like it.  Why are you building a new one?  Can I download the html source and replace the asterisk now GUI I have on an x86 installation or is this only good for the blackfin based system?

Re: New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

Hi switchfinreseller

I started building it to make a simple entry level GUI as the GUI 4.0 can be a bit daunting for first time users and rebuilding it from the ground up gave me the ability to do a lot of things i wanted to do with the GUI 4.0 but was restricted by the initial design.

At the moment most of the back-end code and design is done, but it will be a few months at least before i can get the functionality up to a testing point.

As for using it on a x86 system, are you using Apache? the new GUI uses a little bit of CGI (for system calls) and like the GUI 4.0 will access the AMI via reverse proxy.

Thanks
Jason

Well.. I can't answer that with any intelligence.  I got tired of all the GUI's out there and some time back settled down with either the Asterisknow GUI if I was installing an x86 based solution or your switchfin GUI if I could install an IP0x or PR1 as the solution.

btw; not to complain, (as your work is FANTASTIC), but I never did see queues get a proper option to exit into a custom routine or voice mail.  I've been doing this by manual modification of the conf file for queue routines and breaking that part of the GUI but my need to exit direction was more important than doing it in a GUI.  I have not downloaded the most recent as I was scared of the asterisk updates if it is a production box.  The latest I've kept in production is 499.  Has this been fixed?

btw btw;  my PR1s are kicking ( | ) as a SIP or IAX gateway in a call center!!!

Re: New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

Oh, with all that rambling I forgot to give you a clear answer.  I don't know if Apache is used as I install asterisk now from the iso.

Sorry about my previous forum chatter.  :-)

Re: New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

Oh sorry, I completely forgot about the exit option you wanted in the Queues i will try to add this in this week.

As for the new Asterisk versions, i think for the most part its now stable, but don't enable Attrafax as the patch causes Asterisk to become very unstable.

Thanks
Jason

Re: New GUI (Switchfin Basic)

Hi Albi90

Have not be in forum for quite some time. Is the Switchfin Basic out or not? We are very eager to see if we can flash into our very IP01. WE have been stopped updating since SVN 532 when we found continued looping problem upon booting.
